Laser Hair Removal
You may be surprised to learn that virtually your entire body is covered with hair. Most of this hair is fine and pale and is not usually visible to the naked eye.
When darker, coarser hair appears in places which may make you uncomfortable such as areas on the face, neck, abdomen, breasts, legs, bikini or underarms in women or on the shoulders, chest and back on men, it may be time to consider hair removal with the LightSheer diode laser.
Laser hair removal is a non-invasive approach to drastically reducing and often eliminating the unwanted hair, leaving your skin looking and feeling softer.
To acheive the best results possible and to prevent possible damage to the skin, treatment should not be undertaken if you are actively tanning the area to be treated. The treatment will cause some discomfort but is usually well tolerated. The feeling of the treatment is often likened to the sensation of snapping an elastic band on your skin. In sensitive areas, we can apply a topical anesthetic.
Because the laser only affects the hair follicles in the growth phase, more than one treatment will be necessary. Success of laser hair removal greatly depends on what cycle of hair growth we are treating, the intensity we can treat at (for highly sensitive areas, the intensity cannot be tolerated as well, therefore the settings need to be lowered and results achieved over a longer period of time) and the colour of the hair in contrast to the colour of the skin (the lighter the skin and the darker the hair… the better the results!).
Side effects are very, very rare. There is a lot of care taken to adjust the settings according to each individual's procedure. After the treatment is complete, the area can hold the heat for a while and can give the sensation of having a mild and temporary sunburn to the area that's been treated. Again, although quite warm, the sensation is well tolerated.
The LightSheer XC Diode laser is the gold standard in the field of laser hair removal, offering skin surface cooling, fast treatment and the ability to treat a wide range of skin types. For more information, please see:
